Face Your Fears

Do you ever feel like fear is holding you back from achieving your goals? Fear can be a powerful emotion, but it doesn't have to control your life. In this blog post, we will discuss 4 ways to overcome fear and finally start living the life you want! If you are ready to take action and conquer your fears, then keep reading.

1) Number one on our list is to face your fears head on. This may seem like an obvious solution, but it is often the most effective way to deal with fear. If you are afraid of heights, for instance, then take the elevator up to the highest floor of a building in your city and walk up to the window or onto the balcony and focus on your breathing. Take deep full breaths until you feel your body become more comfortable in this triggering situation. The more you expose yourself to your fear, the less power it will have over you.

2) Another way to work through your fears is to talk about them with someone who will understand and can offer helpful advice. Sometimes it helps to see things from a different perspective. If you are struggling with a decision, such as whether or not to leave your current job, talking to a trusted friend or family member can give you some much-needed clarity. Sometimes all it takes is hearing someone else's opinion to give you the push you need to make a decision.

3) If you are looking for more professional help, consider seeking out a life coach. A life coach can help you work through your fears and figure out what is holding you back from achieving your goals. They will offer unbiased support and guidance as you work to overcome your fears and make positive changes in your life.

4) One final way I want to share with you is to take some time for yourself each day to focus on your breathing and relaxation. Visualize the thing you fear and breathe through the discomfort. Then you can follow up with be meditation, yoga, or simply sitting in a quiet place and focusing on your breath. Spending even just a few minutes out of each day to relax and focus on your breath can help.

On a personal note, public speaking was a big fear of mine.

Over the past couple years I have faced that fear and found myself on an amazing adventure speaking up for causes I believe in, in front of thousands and even millions of people online.

I have had the opportunity to speak on podcasts, on ABC news, and to fortune 500 companies. Through my work I have been able to help teams in boardrooms across the US as well as individuals better themselves and what they offer the world.

I share this only to say that this wouldn't have been possible if I hadn't shown up to the fear and pushed through it.

So ask yourself, "what do I fear?" Then look for ways to diminish it.

Facing your fears is how you gain freedom.

This doesn't mean I don't still feel fear, it just means I know how to deal with it and fear-less often.

Take the first step today and begin facing your fears head on. You will be surprised at how much better you will feel when you finally conquer your fears! These 4 tips are just a starting point- if you need more help, don't hesitate to reach out to a life coach or trusted friend or family member. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. We are here to support you every step of the way.
